This issue of Talking Stick is a brief catch up on news and, in particular, a listing of events of interest to activists.

But first I have sad news to relay. Ed A. succumbed to leukemia early this morning. The progressive activist communities in the nation as well as the region have lost a driving force. For those of us who have known Ed as a friend and or colleague, the loss is also personal. Too young. Too quick. - Lorraine

Candidates and Events -

I was fortunate to hear Rand Knight, Democratic Candidate for the U S. Senate seat from Georgia, speak last evening. In this time of coarse political tactics it was refreshing to hear such an intellectually coherent philosophy of governance. He also outlines practical solutions for current and future challenges such as energy needs and the environment that evoke optimism. Education and experience give him credentials in the areas of environmental science, business and politics which are very impressive. A candidate of such substance is most welcome and in my book make him the most seriously competitive opposition to Saxby Chambliss.

I hope as many Georgians as possible will take the opportunity to meet and hear Rand Knight. His website and blog is http://knightforsenate.com Lots of good information.
